Hi
Welcome to a small round at Brikas.
We became a registered kennel November the 1st.
Short told, we’re a family at 2 adults and 5 children in age 8 – 23
the oldest don’t live at home anymore.
We live in a small town called: “Svebølle.”
It’s between Jyderup and Kalundborg.
It’s about 45 minutes drive from Copenhagen.
Our dogs live inside the house and they’re the family’s little cover pets
We got our first pug in 2001, when we almost came up and fight about who had the right to pet the little gold nugget, we decided to buy a new one, it had to be a girl
>> Mammas girl <<
We also dared ourselves out in dog shows, and it became an obsession
Stoony and Stacie, as they were called, took one after another trophy with us home.
Loooovely, and we all were so proud of it. Too bad they aren’t here with us anymore.
At one of the dog show, a judge asked of if we had the slightest thought of breeding on them.
We hadn’t thought of that and brought it up in a house meeting, and we agreed that we would try to have a litter, just see if it was something we liked.
The first litter came in 2002.
It was quite enchanting, an event that was life-affirming.
We quickly found out that it was something we wanted to do more.
So beside the hobby with going to the dog shows, it also became having puppies.
Our children are also with at the birth, they’re helpers if we need an extra hand, or a sandwich.
Oh well, they just love to be there and watch it all.
If the female allows it, then the other dogs are welcome to look too.
They are indeed very curious about what small sound there comes from time to time.
We mainly have it like that, that the birthing female must have peace, and extra attention, and then the rest of the gang just have to wait.
The puppies are daily in hands and as much as several times a day – our children’s friends are welcome to see the pups and pet them, but in the so called “baby box.”
First when they have got their eyes and can walk a bit on their own, they can be taken out of the box, and sit in your lap
It’s a strict rule we have in our home, as we don’t want the puppy to get hurt .
From their arrival on their legs and they have started on solid food, they’re out daily and play, well, outside the baby box that is. And is the weather good enough they get to play outside, there isn’t anything better than that…. Oh well, it should just be that they get a treat.
From that day on, our house gets plenty of visits and several times a day.
It’s great to see how much kids and animals can be good to each other, yet a puppy or 2 won’t make it.
When the puppies are on their legs, we train them to pee and pooh on papers.
The big carpet is removed and we put newspaper in one of the corners in the box, and in front of the door in the living room, can we make it when we see a puppy pee on the floor we put it outside so it learns it’s outside you do your “thing”
I hope you get answer on your questions by jumping around on our website, if not you can call us, or send an email.
There’s an opportunity to get on a wait list, if you have an interest in getting a puppy.
